COMMENT A MEAL :
As a preparation for week 6's project, we were supposed to comment a meal that we'll have during the week end. So I though it could be a great occasion to discover a nice place in London with friends. We've chosen to eat in a very 50's american ambiance. The restaurant was named Ed's dinner and it is based in Soho. Easily visible because of the front light decoration, this restaurant is a very typical american snack. The composition of the place is based on a circle surrounding the kitchen. It means that the clients are seated on stool around the heaters, which lay an emphasis on the snack idea of the place. As a 50's american ambiance, the decoration is based on rock'n roll elements such as disk jockey and the main colors are especially red, white and black. As every rock'n roll place that respect itself, the floor was made with checked pattern tiles. And obviously, the music was original rock. For the food, the menu was quiet simple, composed by typical snack food such as hamburger or hot dog which confirm the idea of a "cool" place. The crookery or even the utensils were very simple, without any reflection on it as if all the efforts had been focused on the ambiance and the decoration which, again was to confirm the idea of a chill place. The population was really mixed, we had as well working girls (which was really surprising by the way) as just teenagers having a snack. Some people fitted very well in the area because of their style ( leather jacket and converse) which really reminded me of "Grease".
